There are less than two weeks until Valentine’s Day and where better to celebrate than by the Yarra. Whether it’s a romantic dinner for two, something on the water or just a stroll late at night with fireworks, the Yarra has options for those celebrating their first Valentine’s Day, or their 50th.
Akachochin Japanese at South Wharf are offering a six course sharing menu for you and your loved one for $138 per couple, and you can upgrade to the Mumm Champagne package for an additional $75 per couple.
Meat Market is catering to the carnivores among us with a 3 course sharing menu for couples, including a glass of Mumm for $140. Add a whole bottle for $60 extra.
The Wharf Hotel, right on the river, requests the pleasure of your company for an a la carte dinner, with sittings at 6.15pm and 8pm. Reserve your table to go in the draw to win a $200 Simone Perele voucher.
Ludlow Bar and Dining can serve you lunch or dinner, depending on when you prefer to dine with your special someone. $55pp for lunch, and $70pp for dinner.
Join a romantic Valentine’s Day cruise along the Yarra with Melbourne River Cruises. This 3 course dinner cruise departs Southgate at 7.30pm and returns at 10.30 – $159 per person.
Over at Southgate, dine at Pure South, Amarok Bar or La Camera and after your sumptuous meal, head over to the pedestrian bridge to declare your love by hanging a padlock alongside hundreds of other symbols and gestures. Even the Lindt café is sharing the love, with a free box of 15 Lindor hearts with the purchase of a sharing plate.
If its great heights you are after, visit Eureka Skydeck for a daiquiri while the sun sets (with a free Instagram print of your special night from 6-11pm!), or take a turn on the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel.
At the end of the night, take a stroll along Crown Promenade, where fireworks will light up the sky at 9.30pm, celebrating the Chinese Lunar Festival.
We hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day –just don’t forget to book the spot you want before they fill up!
