February - Love, Sport and all things WHITE!

The tennis is over, Australia Day has come and gone and February is upon us, a fantastic month of activity by the river usually supported by outstanding weather. Valentines Day reigns supreme for dining and romantic walks by the water, while the Super Bowl brings out the most dedicated of sports supporters. White Night is the highlight of the month, with plenty to see and do until the small hours of the morning.

Hophaus are getting the party started on Thursday 4 February with the Cologne Karneval, a festival of unique biers exclusively imported from Cologne. There will be live music, a special menu and clowns until Sunday 14 February.

Crown Riverwalk continues the party with the Lunar New Year celebrations, transforming the promenade into a Hawkers Bazaar from 5 - 7 February. Running til 11pm each night, with fireworks on Saturday 6 February, the glittering canopy of lights and lanterns is the icing on the cake of traditional music and delicious foods.

The sport mad can watch the Superbowl live on Monday 8, with The Wharf Hotel, World Bar and PJ O'Brien's all hosting special events. The game kicks off early, so if you are not required at work, book a seat and catch the game live and loud on big screens, accompanied by all American menus.

Lovers will celebrate St Valentines Day over romantic dinners for two and shared plates, whispering sweet nothings in dark corners of our favourite restaurants. Visit World Bar for delicious sharing boards and live acoustic music, or The Wharf Hotel for riverside romance. Ludlow Bar and Dining Room have a picnic special complete with Pimms, and if you book early enough at Hophaus, you'll score a terrace seat with water views.

On the water, Lady Cutler Melbourne Showboat are offering their Champagne and Seafood Brunch cruise to lovers, or you might prefer a lunch or dinner cruise with Melbourne River Cruises. Venice on the Yarra is always a good idea, and even if a Valentine's Day gondola ride is sold out, a gift voucher for anytime should do the trick.

If you miss the boat on planning your Valentine, jump aboard the Lady Cutler Melbourne Showboat on February 19 for a burlesque cruise, the Jungle Boogie Tiki Party.
