‘The Ultimate Yarra River Staycation’ Competition Terms

Competition terms and conditions

  1. The promoter is Yarra River Business Association Incorporated (ABN: 64 453 280 508), trading as yarrariver.melbourne,
  2. YRBA competitions are not open to employees of the Yarra River Business Association Inc. or City of Melbourne (be they directors, employees or contractors), their immediate family members or associated companies,
  3. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions,
  4. By entering the competition you accept these Terms and Conditions,
  5. To enter the competition you must complete an entry form, including all mandatory fields, at www.yarrariver.melbourne/competition
  6. Each entrant is permitted to enter the promotion once. An entrant must not submit an entry on behalf of someone else,
  7. Entrants must be over 18 years of age,
  8. Entry to the competition is open to residents of Australia only,
  9. The promoter may user the entrants names and contact details to forward a quarterly 'What's New in the Yarra River Precinct' e-bulletin, and the entrant consents to such use. Any further promotion will include a functional unsubscribe facility to remove the entrant’s details from the promoter’s database. All entries become the property of the promoter,
  10. The competition commences at 9am on 15/3/2021 AEST. Entries close at 11.59pm on 29/5/2021 (ie the competition period)
  11. Entries must be received during the competition period. No responsibility will be accepted for late or misdirected entries. Incomplete or indecipherable entries will be deemed invalid,
  12. The value of the total prize pool is $20,000,
  13. There are two major prizes to the value of $10,000 each,
  14. The winners will be drawn electronically and randomly from the valid entries on 19/4/2021 and 30/5/2021,
  15. Random draws for vouchers to attractions in the Yarra River Precinct will be made every Monday between 29/3/2021 and 23/5/2021,
  16. Winner/s will be notified by email and informed of how to claim their prize via email. The winner/s will also receive a letter of confirmation sent by registered mail,
  17. Winning entrants agree to have their name included on www.yarrariver.melbourne and in a weekly e-bulletin of the Yarra River Business Association,
  18. The promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into,
  19. The prizes are not convertible to cash, exchangeable, transferable and not for sale,
  20. The major prizes must be taken in a 3 day/ 3 night block, with all vouchers eligible for redemption only during that period,
  21. The prize/s is valid until 30/12/2021,
  22. Accommodation and dining components of the prizes will be subject to availability,
  23. Finalised contents of the prize will be tailored to the interests of the prize winner/s,where possible at the discretion of the promoter,
  24. Applicable vouchers for the components of the prize will be couriered or posted by registered mail to an address provided by the winner/s,
  25. The promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process or who submits more than one valid entry for the draw/s. Failure by the promoters to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of these rights,
  26. The promoter may conduct a further draw, if the prize/s remain uncollected by 30/7/2021, subject to any written directions given by a regulatory authority,
  27. If the prize, or part of the prize, is unavailable, the promoters, in their discretion, reserve the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority,
  28. If the promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated, due to any reason beyond the control of the promoter, the promoter reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify the entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate,
  29. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the promoter excludes all liability, including negligence for any personal liability; or loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the promoter; (d) any tax liability incurred by the winner or entrant; or (f) use of the prize,
  30. The promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the competition. Entry into this competition is conditional on provision of the personal information requested,Entrants consent to the promoters using the entrant’s name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for any unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promotion this competition,
  31. Yarra River Business Association Incorporated reserves the right to alter or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time and to cancel the competition without further recourse to the entrants.
